Once again, our brilliant gymnasts have done us proud at our Oxfordshire schools gymnastics event! They all worked so hard to learn the routines and showcased them brilliantly this afternoon in Carterton.
Freeland’s got Talent!
Today was one of the most anticipated days of our school calendar - The Freeland’s got Talent final!! We had such a huge selection of amazing auditions to choose from this year, Miss Hustler and the school council found it incredibly difficult! Well done to everyone who had the courage and determination to audition. The talent in today’s final was incredible and every child should be very proud! The whole school loved all the acts, and it was even harder to choose just 1 winner. Congratulations to Clarry for winning 1st place, Grace 2nd and Katy 3rd. We’re looking forward to FGT 2021 already!

What a successful evening for our first 'Celebration of Learning' event! KS2 were so lucky to have an overwhelming amount of support from mums, dads, grandparents, siblings and friends. We are really proud of all the hard work that the pupils have put in this term so far, and it was so nice for them to be able to show off their achievements in such a new and exciting way. Thank you to everyone who got involved in our activities - we now can't wait for our KS1 celebration of learning in the new year!
Freeland School Council 2019
In this morning's assembly the School Council demonstrated the importance of respecting each other and our belongings. They also reminded the children about using 'STOP I don't like it!' when people are being unkind.
This year we supported Children in Need by taking part in Joe Wick's Big Morning Move. We raised £146.00 and had great fun doing it!
This week is our school reading week to coincide with our book fair. The children have been doing lots of reading in different ways and have particularly enjoyed going to different classes to read with other year groups. It’s been lovely to see the children sharing their favourite stories with others and the older children supporting younger readers.
One of our optional homework task this term is to create an autumn picture. This was inspired by Mrs Nickelson's walk through Westonbirt Arboretum during half term. Here are some of the children's creations.

THE GREAT FREELAND BAKE OFF.
What an amazing morning! It was so lovely to see so many children and families getting involved with our environmental themed bake off! We were amazed at the quality and precision of all the bakes and it was very hard to judge! Thank you to all who took part and bought cakes at the end of the day. We raised a brilliant £161.40 for the Holistic Special Education Foundation in Sri Lanka. What a fantastic end to the Spring term!
Lots of the classes have loved getting the opportunity to have a look inside Freeland’s new bug hotel, thanks to Mr Lambert! What creatures have you been able to spot?
Well done to the year 5 and 6 cross country finalists! A brilliant morning all round, despite the weather!
A fantastic morning at the EPA Kwik Cricket event at Bartholomew. Despite the weather, all the year 5s and 6s we took showed outstanding resilience! They should be very proud!

Exploring the theme of ‘play’ through mark making.
Six children from each of our Academy schools met on Thursday 14th February at Brookes University Oxford to take part in an exciting workshop with artist Dionne Freeman.
Six children from Year 3 had an amazing time exploring mark making using soaked tea bags. The fun began with throwing the tea bags: high, low, a gentle drop, a hard throw, rolling, squishing…on to a large piece of white paper. This was great fun and even smelled lovely.

The pupils represented Freeland fantastically, and made everyone involved very proud - well done!!
