Welcome to Golden Eagles with Mr Protherough

We are so pleased to welcome you to Golden Eagles for the academic year 2025-2026.

What an amazing start to the year we have had! The Golden Eagles have taken off and are soaring into their role at the top of the school. There have been many personal developments already. By taking part in events, such as the cross country - showing true determination and resilience - as well as the year sixes taking on the roles of line supervisors, lunchtime helpers and assembly assistants, we have gelled as a class and found our supportive and responsible natures. The value this term was 'friendship', and to see our class settle and guide each other into their new position of responsibility in the school has been wonderful. In terms of learning, the children have flourished with the newfound freedom of more independent learning activities and high expectations. As a teacher, it always makes me proud and joyous when the children enter school and ask if they can continue their research, learning or a presentation with enthusiasm. We have explored the wonders of the solar system in science, and beyond that, the mysteries of the planet-moon Pandora for our English non-chronological reports. We took those report writing skills and then used them to study and record the wonders of African geography and culture in topic. There have been many highlights, and many more to come.
